retreat. Newly built in 2005, this cozy 3 bedroom/2 bathroom log
home offers a spectacular great room and fireplace, fully equipped
modern kitchen, and spacious deck - all within a pristine setting

Activities and Attractions
Winter:
A skiers paradise, the Adirondack region offers endless winter
recreation including the following:
Downhill Skiing With seventy-nine trails, eleven lifts, and a
2,100 ft. vertical drop, Gore Mountain is one of the premiere ski resorts
on the East Coast and is less than 10 minutes down the road from
Skarbeks Cabin. Whiteface Mountain is less than 1 hour away. Cross
Country Skiing/Snowshoeing In addition to the miles of trails
around the Cabin, Garnet Hill Cross Country Ski Center is 15 minutes
away and is rated one of the top 10 cross country centers in the
country. There are 55 KM of groomed trails and at a 2,000 ft.
elevation, Garnet Hill receives an abundance of natural snowfall.
Spring:
During the spring, when the snow melts, there are many exciting
opportunities for adventurous white water rafting on the Hudson
River. The Hudson Gorge, one of the most talked about gorges in the
Northeast for white water rafting, is 8 miles up the river and
boasts Class 5 rapids with the spring runoff.
Summer:
Summer is the perfect season to get away from the heat of the city
to relax and unwind in the Adirondacks. The many outdoor escapes
include: Swimming Garnet Hill is 15 minutes away and has sandy
beaches on picturesque 13th Lake. Loon Lake is a mere 2 miles down
the road and provides beautiful beaches and swimming docks. Or, you
can walk down to the pristine Hudson River for an afternoon
dip...the perfect swimming spot. Mountain Biking There are miles of trails
and seasonal roads surrounding the Cabins 22 acres of land, all of
which provide gorgeous views of the mountains and the Hudson River,
perfect for the beginner or the more advanced rider. Gore Mountain
and Garnet Hill also provide miles of trails and have scheduled
races throughout the warmer months of the year. Golf Saratoga Springs
National Golf Course is less than 40 minutes away and Green Mansions
Golf Club is a short 10-minute trip.
Additional warm weather activities include boating, canoeing,
fishing, tennis, horseback riding, and hiking. The popular resort
town of Lake George is less than 30 minutes from the cabin and
offers shopping, dining, and a variety of other activities.
Fall:
There is no comparison to the spectacular, brilliant foliage of the
Adirondacks. Enjoy the array of colors from the property, a bike
ride, or from the many hiking trails originating around the area.
Other nearby attractions particularly enjoyable in the Fall include
The Adirondack Museum, Upper Hudson River Railroad (offering
spectacular foliage tours), gondola foliage rides at Gore Mountain,
The Adirondack Park Interpretive Visitor Center, Garnet Mine tours,
and Adirondack Great Camp tours just to name a few.
