Please be aware there is a couple trying to rent Month to Month in Palm Springs and surrounding areas.
They try to use their fake company name, only provide a phone number that rings directly to voicemail - and refuse to provide a direct contact number and when asked state: "We do not give out our cell number. Once, there is relationship perhaps."
They will try and put their rental agreement in the name of the fake company. The result is when they don't pay their rent, you have to serve the company which doesn't exist. It will take many months to actually evict them based on California Law.
They have done this scam all over the Cochella Valley - with their con stating "We're building a house in Malibu"
Be careful to always place the rental agreement in the name of the actual renters. Get a copy of their drivers license.
If you are contacted in your community and think you are being scammed, make sure you let your neighbors know to be aware as they target many indivual units in the same community!
