Name: BethLocation: Fallbrook, CAType of space: Front porch of our cottageTell us about your outdoor project and how you enjoy it: We are currently renting a very small cottage in the midst of a natural oak grove. Needless to say, we don't receive much sun for my ever-growing succulent collection. I group all of my succulents on our front porch which receives the most sunlight. This actually works quite well since the majority of our local squirrel population tend to gather in front of our house to tease our dogs through the fence- I've found they don't care much for the taste of aloe and agave, while they devour any flowers I put out there in a day. The rest of my ornamental baskets are primarily shade loving/tolerant plants. How did you create it? I pick up succulents at local nurseries, farmers markets and take cuttings from all my friend's succulents. I plant them in pretty much in anything I can find and drill holes in.
