Swimming and boating are at your doorstep. Canoeing and kayaking are popular activities on the lake. Berry picking and fossil hunting is nearby. For the adventure seeker there are many white water rafting companies and horseback riding within a 30 minute drive of the cabin. Hiking and mountain climbing await you. The Lake: Embden Pond is one of the cleanest, mountain spring fed lakes in the country. It's beauty stretches for 5 miles with panoramic views throughout. The surrounding, mountainous area offers fine dining, golf, summer theatre, country fairs, antique shops and site seeing. Embden Pond measures nearly five miles long and offers some of the best fishing in the state. Wild Salmon, Trout, Bass, Perch, and Pickerel are abundant in the lake and are supplemented by regular stocking of Brook Trout and Landlocked Salmon from nearby Embden Fish Rearing Station (hatchery).
