There are two great golf courses within a short drive and one of them, Sugarloaf USA is rated as one of the best in the East. The Lake: Embden Pond is one of the cleanest, mountain spring fed lakes in the country. It's beauty stretches for 5 miles with panoramic views throughout. The surrounding, mountainous area offers fine dining, golf, summer theatre, country fairs, antique shops and site seeing. Embden Pond measures nearly five miles long and offers some of the best fishing in the state. Wild Salmon, Trout, Bass, Perch, and Pickerel are abundant in the lake and are supplemented by regular stocking of Brook Trout and Landlocked Salmon from nearby Embden Fish Rearing Station (hatchery).
